In March 1950 the church seceded from Vereeniging. The contractor, G.J. Lindeque, an elder in the church, donated the cornerstone. By the end of 1952 a parsonage was also under construction (status unknown). The construction cost was £12,000 for the church, and £4,000 for the parsonage. Both buildings were built by Lindeque.
