Status: Extant View from north-west¹ This congregation was established in 1925, and it purchased the land for construction of a church in 1936. The year 1945 (post-WW2) arrived with more favourable circumstances prevailing in the congregation. The church council judged that the time had now come to sell the old church hall and erect a new church building, which was approved by the congregation on 15 September 1945. The cornerstone of the church building was laid on 30 March 1946. The new church building was completed at the end of October 1946, and was commissioned on 2 November 1946. Gauf) was a German-born prospector and businessman active in the Transvaal (now Gauteng province, South Africa) during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. He played a significant role in the Witwatersrand gold rush era and the development of mining on the East Rand, contributing to discoveries that fueled South Africa's industrial growth. Gauf was a German immigrant who arrived in South Africa in 1879. He first settled in Lady Grey in the Northern Cape, where he helped defend the nearby town of Herschel against the Tambookie (Tembu) rising during the 1880-1881 conflicts tied to the Basuto Gun War.
