View from north (1972)¹ The church was inaugurated on 15 April 1972. It was built on 3 morgan of donated land. NH Kerk - Witpoortjie, Roodepoort

View from north (1973)¹ The congregation seceded from Roodepoort in 1958. The congregation began with a professing membership of fewer than 300, four stands in Witpoortjie, seventy chairs, one small table, and £650.  During the nine years that Rev. J.A. Swanepoel was in Witpoortjie, a parsonage (1960) and a church hall (1961) were built. By the middle of 1969, a massive expansion of the Witpoortjie suburb took place. Three additional stands were purchased in a new, expanding area, Wilropark, and the land on which the church hall stood was exchanged with the Town Council of Roodepoort for a much larger and better-situated piece of land to build the new church complex.
