This congregation was established in 1925, and it purchased the land for construction of a church in 1936. The year 1945 (post-WW2) arrived with more favourable circumstances prevailing in the congregation. The church council judged that the time had now come to sell the old church hall and erect a new church building, which was approved by the congregation on 15 September 1945. The cornerstone of the church building was laid on 30 March 1946. The new church building was completed at the end of October 1946, and was commissioned on 2 November 1946. New parsonages were completed in 1934, 1954 (at 58 Hoy St) and 1963 (at Rand Collieries). Church halls were built in 1967 and 1993.¹ ²
